The

the world. Production of films in Australia commenced from 1906 with the film, ‘The
Story of the Kelly Gang’. Starting from then many Australian Films have been
made, many of which have gained world recognition. Many actors have started
their career through Australian Films and have now been acclaimed worldwide.
The
boom of Australian Films started from 1920 and reached its peak in this year.
The film industry grew more in the following years. Many noted films were made
during this period, like The Sentimental Bloke and Robbery Under Arms. The
first Australian Oscar was won in the year 1942 by the film Kokoda Front
Linel. There are many noted players who
earned name during this period. Chips Rafferty and Peter Finch are two noted
film actors who should be particularly named. The Renaissance happened during
the year 1970 and 1980.
Presently
the Australian Film industry has reached its optimum and there are various
films and players who have received world acclaim. Nicole Kidman is an actor
who should be particularly named. She started acting in Children's film in the
year 1980 and now it is difficult to think of a film where she is not acting.
Hugh Jackman and David Wenham are also two well noted actors of present day
Australian Films.
