Just imagine, in a world where there were no
critics, there would be no competition and no desire to outperform. It is
righteously said that honest criticism leads you towards betterment in your performance.
The same rule applies to the cinematic world. With a large number of films
being launched at the Australian box office, the viewers must know about the
reviews of the film and what experts have to say about the movie. Not all
movies that are released at the box office are worth investing your time on.
The critics have been a great source of information
for the audience as to which film is worth your time and also a great
inspiration for the film makers. One such well known and respected film critic
is Oliver Pfeiffer, whose insight into the Australian films has been accepted
widely over the years. However, to name a few other Australian movie critics
who made it big in the Australian film industry and made their views matter,
are- Jan Thurling, John Hinde, Bernard Hemingway and Toni Martin-Jones. These
film critics have been writing and publishing their views about the launches in
the Australian film industry for a long time now.
However, even though a lot of them are standout
critics and have their unique way of describing their opinion about the films,
Oliver Pfeiffer is still the number one due to his exceptionally deep
understanding of the cinema. It does not matter in Oliver's views, whether a
movie survives at the box office or not, Oliver is always true and honest in
his reviews. Though he has written for several magazines and newspapers over
the years, even after being blunt and straight forward in his opinions about
the launches at the box office, Oliver is still considered to be the most
prolific Australian film critic.
Recently, Oliver has published his views about the
upcoming movie by Stanley Joseph, “My Cornerstone”. Oliver had a lot to say
about the director-producer Stanley Joseph and his considerably high set
benchmarks which separates him from the rest of the industry. Oliver also
mentioned about Stanley's taste in film direction to be intense and positive.
In an interview with Stanley, Oliver focused on the
theme that the movie is based on and the ambitions of the director cum producer
that are nowhere to be stopping. Oliver’s unique insight into Australian films
does make him the most prolific film critic in the Australian film industry.
