Tony Curtis And His Iconic Careerograph

The 50s and the 60s were considered to be the golden eras in global cinema. The legendary actors and actresses who have been a part of that era have left behind evergreen memories of their classic work, to be treasured in all times to come. One such iconic Hollywood personality who ruled the world of cinema for six long decades is Tony Curtis, who was initially christened as Bernard Schwartz. 

Unveiling an iconic career…

Tony Curtis had floored the world completely with his undoubted ‘hunky’ looks. His acting career spread beyond 100 movies and had him play varied characters, each uniquely distinguished from the rest. The era of 1950 marked his grand entry into the successful stream of English Cinema that introduced him to unlimited success without looking back. He acted in several dramatic movies as well as in many ‘rib tickling’ comedy flicks.  In his initial phase of acting, mediocre films like Swashbucklers had his magical presence, which became a part of his success list. However, ‘Sweet Smell of Success’ became the threshold of his successful career that led him onto the route of mega blockbusters like The Defiant Ones, Some Like it Hot, Operation Petticoat, and many more, and these won him critic appreciation and recognition.

Having ruled the big screen for a couple of years, Tony Curtis also made successful waves on the small screen with television series like The Persuaders, Vegas and McCoy. He also lent his ever popular voice for The Flintstones which is also a famous animated series. 

Tony Curtis, although never tasted Oscar Success, he was honored with prestigious and valuable recognitions like Sony Ericsson Empire Lifetime Achievement Award and Ordre des Arts et des Lettres that he received from France. Hollywood Walk of Fame was also graced by his worthy presence that made Tony Curtis a role model for several admirers and well wishers. He was also a part of the Golden Globe Awards nomination as a supporting actor for the movie Spartacus. His other popular flicks include The Great Race, Sex and the Single Girl, The Last Tycoon, The Boston Strangler and so on and so forth. 

He also initiated his talent potentiality in documentary movies like The Jill & Tony Curtis Story that revolved around his struggle to rescue horses from the trap of slaughter. Even after his death, he continued to be an iconic example for the world with his seamless contribution to the world of Hollywood cinema.
