The Great Celebrity Actor Tom Hanks And His Work

A renowned celebrity who has ruled the kingdom of Hollywood for decades and still continues to spread his charm across the world undoubtedly is the famous icon, Thomas Jeffery Hanks. This legendary personality set foot in this majestic world in the year 1956 on July 9th. Thomas Hanks by birth belonged to a very simple family background that had his mother working as a hospital worker and his father as a specialty travel cook. His childhood did not have any troubled phases or jinxed moments that gave him a tough living. His early life was only caught in a web of mazes and career confusions that kept his mind clogged throughout. 

Thomas Hanks had never foreseen acting as his career longevity. However, when he auditioned for a community theatre play at downtown, he caught the eyes of the director who suggested him to come down to Cleveland, which thus became the “threshold” of his acting career. There was no looking back after that, as his career journey took off from that place and “rooted” itself onto the soils of Hollywood that molded him into a star, he is today. 

His signature roles always had him playing the “boy-next-door”, which seemed ordinary, but pivotal enough in unique character situations. His roles always depicted regular and simpleton guys who are most loved and preferred. His major works have won him an outstanding appreciation and accolades which salutes his seamless determination and perseverance in the Hollywood Industry. Some of his famous landmark movies are “Philadelphia, In & Out, Apollo 13, Cast Away, Catch Me If You Can, Saving Private Ryan, The Terminal” and many more adding to the popular list. 

His remarkable achievements also include Oscar Awards for Forest Gump and Philadelphia, Public Service Award in recognition for his brilliant performance in Saving Private Ryan, etc. He also gained a 17th position in a UK based ‘ Empire Magazine’ in the list of Top 100 Movie Stars of All Time”. Thomas Hanks was also the youngest award winner of American Film Institute’s Life Time Achievement Award, which was honored to him by the distinguished “Steven Spielberg”. 

Tom Hanks has even graced the small screen with his frequent anchoring for Saturday Night Live. He has made a quick appearance in movies like Happy Days, which in turn had him bag the leading role in Splash. He was always a man of conviction and believed in being concrete with his ideas and implementation. In short, he has eternally been the man of substance.
