Ed Gibb - One Man many Roles

Imagine a life where you are a famous RJ, an in-demand event host, a respected and widely popular film critic, and an editor for some of the most well known journals and magazines. Yes such a personality makes everybody around jealous for sure. But Ed Gibbs has been donning these roles efficiently for more than a decade now.

An interesting thing about Ed Gibbs is that, even as a child, Ed Gibbs was a movie buff and also ran a movie club. He pursued his interest in the movies further by getting a post graduate degree from University of Aberdeen, UK and University of New Mexico, USA (as a part of the student exchange program).  In the year1994-95 Ed Gibbs, started his innings as a journalist cum sub-editor with Various, London. He pursued his carrier in journalism for almost a decade with different firms in London.   

In the year 2004, he got his big break when he started working in the position of Editor for the ‘News Corporation’, Sydney which was a well known firm in the publishing industry with over 10,000+ employees .In News Corporation, he helped in re-launching Sydney’s leading metro titles including the GO, which was also one of the highlights of his career there.

Thereafter Ed Gibbs never looked back and took on exciting, challenging opportunities in both digital and print media. His recent milestones in career include his association with The Sun – Herald and The Sunday Age where he works for them as a resident critic. Besides, he also works for different news magazines like The Guardian, The independent and Rolling Stone amongst others.

He is a well known entity at the biggest film festivals across the globe like the Cannes, The Sundance, Venice and Toronto for Fairfax. He has also been associated as a programmer, consultant, and has hosted many popular events. 

Ed Gibbs is now working in the capacity of a Senior Film and Music Journalist and Critic since March 2008 and is based in Sydney and sometimes in London as well. He is currently said to be associated with film – related projects for theatre and TV broadcast release.  Ed Gibbs has a fan following on the social networking and blogging sites. It definitely is an indication that Ed Gibbs represents the reviews of his readers globally.  Ed Gibbs and the Australian cinema are indeed inseparable.
