Greatest Story Tellers Of Australian Cinema

In the film industry one of the top sought after writers are those who have niche in writing entertainment stories. From the beginning of the history of Australian cinema mostly the entertainment writers are getting importance and Australia till date has produced some of the best story teller of the trade. Some of them which are internationally famous and delivered many unforgettable films are

Terry Hayes - one of the best known entertainment writers, producer of Australia. He shot to fame with his mega hit Hollywood venture of Mad Max in the 1985. Some of the best projects he has done so far in feature films both in producing and story writing are Vertical Limit (2000), Payback (1999), From Hell (2001), Mad Max: Beyond Thunder dome (1985), etc.

Baz  Luhrmann -  one of the most famous and greatest entertainment story writers in the history of Australian film and entertainment. He has written many international hits that are still very popular. He has his expertise in scripting beautiful romantic stories. Some of his creations which got recognized and praised by the international viewers are The Great Gatsby (2013), Australia (2008), Moulin Rouge (2001), Romeo + Juliet (1996) and so on.

George Miller - this Australian entertainment writer, director, though originally by profession a doctor is one of the few geniuses who can tell the story so beautifully that none can neglect him. He creates some of the immortal animal characters in his films that after Walt Disney none succeed to do that like him. Happy Feet (2006), Babe (1995), Happy Feet Two (2011), Babe: Pig in the City (1998) is some of the creations of him.

Gibson, Mel -  though this American- Australian actor is mainly famous all over the world for his acting skills, but his ability to write wonderful screenplays dumbstruck the viewers none the less. The Passion of the Christ (2004) and Apocalypto (2006) are two of his signature creations that were a huge hit in the US as well.

Stuart Beattie – he is an Australian writer and director, famous for unarguably his best screenplay of Pirates of the Caribbean (2003-2011). He has been nominated several times for the actors guild award. He is more into writing thriller and action movies. G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra (2009), Collateral (2004), 30 Days of Night (2007, US), Derailed (2005, US) are other hits delivered by him.
It should not be ended here without saying the name of another Australian writer who is getting popular for his beautiful story telling. He is Stanley Joseph, who is also a director and the founder of WPA, a Sydney based production house. One of the marvels of this writer is “my cornerstone”. It’s a romantic film, written and directed by Stanley Joseph himself. The story of the film begins with an Indian nurse who comes to Australia and takes charge of looking after an aged lady and who then falls in love. It is a very uniquely written romantic story and is going to be released in April, 2014 in Australia.
