Journey Of George Clooney

George Timothy Clooney, better known as an American actor, director and producer, George Clooney was born in Kentucky, United States on May 6, 1961. He started his film career much later and initially appeared in television drama series, “E/R”. This was his first camera appearance in the year 1984, and gradually George had numerous other shows in his pocket. He played several roles on television shows like “Sisters”, “Roseanne”, “The Facts of Life”, etc.

George’s filming career began when he was simultaneously working on his first television show, “E/R”. He played roles in films like “From Dusk Till Dawn (1996)”, “One Fine Day (1996)”, “Batman and Robin (1997)”, “Out of Sight (1997)”, “The Thin Red Line (1998)”, and “Three Kings (1999)”. However, George quit the show “E/R” in the year 1999, but he did come on the season finale of the drama series.

According to the closest people in George’s life, it has been revealed that George never had plans for Hollywood or even the television industry. He was a brilliant sportsperson in his high school (Augusta High School) and always had his area of interest in baseball and basketball. However, George did realize that his career lies in filming when he was offered a petty role in one of the television shows, which was too arranged by his cousin brother.

After this incidence, George had a clear picture of what he wanted his career to be, and hence, he pursued his acting career and shot for other television shows and finally, the film industry. Then he was unstoppable and George saw impeccable heights in his career. Apart from acting, George started his production house in partnership with one of his friends, Steven Soderbergh. They named it “Section Eight Productions”. The films that were launched under the banner of this production house included “Far from Heaven (2002), Syriana (2005), A Scanner Darkly (2006), and Good Night, and Good Luck. (2005).” However, this production house could not run for long and it was shut in 2006. It wasn’t much later than this that George established another production house with his friend and business partner, Grant Heslov, and it was named as, “Smokehouse Productions”.

George Clooney has won three Golden Globe Awards for his work as an actor and two Academy Awards. He also won an Oscar for best supporting actor in “Syriana”. George Clooney’s career has been a remarkable journey and the 52 year old actor/producer/director is still going strong.
