Ed Gibbs And Australian Cinema

Ed Gibbs is a well known critic, currently working for The Sun-Herald and The Sunday Age. He has worked as a critic for various other newspapers and magazines. He is also a renowned former editor who wrote for the music and television industry. Educated at the University of Aberdeen, UK, the writer has served as Editor, Journalist and Sub-editor at various newspapers, including Pacific magazine, Sydney and Reed Business Information, London. Gibbs possesses various expertise in the fields of journalism, text editing, television, digital media, and especially film criticism.
Gibbs is known for his valuable contribution as a critic for various films that have been blockbusters at the Australian box office. Gibbs appeared at various film festivals including the world’s largest, such as, Sundance, Cannes, Toronto and Venice. Gibbs is one of the few reputed and respected critics in the Australian film industry.

Apart from his reviews about the films, Gibbs has been a prolific writer about famous personalities and their lives, such as Nelson Mandela, De Niro, etc. Gibbs’s vision as a writer has never been limited to just films and entertainment media, but the critic cum editor has been actively writing about sports, politics, motoring, holiday destinations, travel and other social topics.

His views about the major films launching all across the globe, majorly Hollywood, have been widely accepted and appreciated all over. Although Gibbs is famously known for his excellent writing in the cinematic world, he is more of an Australian film critic, publishing his views about major blockbusters at the Australian box office.

Recently, Gibbs was approached by Stanley Joseph for writing a review about his upcoming film, “My cornerstone”, which is expected to be a huge hit at the Australian box office. The director cum producer Stanley is known for his exceptional view towards the cinema. His upcoming movie is based on social prejudices that focus on the racist mentality of people still prevalent in the Australian culture.

However, Stanley wanted his movie to reach the audience before it releases, Gibbs was approached by the crew of “My Cornerstone” to write an honest and informative review about the film. The movie is yet to be released in April this year and is expected to break all records at the Australian box office.

With such talented and honest critics in the industry such as Ed Gibbs, the Australian audience will be investing their time in the movies worth watching, and the Australian cinema will touch new heights like never before.
